David Fluhrer David R. Fluhrer brings to Loewy David Group clients nearly three decades of communications experience and achievement, primarily with Fortune 500 companies. He has created or headed corporate communications groups at Avis Group Holdings, Celanese Corporation, Integrated Resources, Medscape, Newsweek, Olsten Corporation, The Reader's Digest Association and Viacom International. He has also been responsible for creating investor relations groups at three of these companies. During his career, Fluhrer has acquired very broad and deep experience in a wide range of communications disciplines, from news media relations to financial presentations to crisis communications and employee communications. His industry experience covers business and technology services, chemicals, entertainment, financial services, health/medicine, media/publishing and transportation. He has taken an Internet company through an IPO, presided over more than 80 quarterly earnings announcements and produced - from beginning to end -- 17 corporate annual reports to shareholders, with a number of those publications receiving awards from Financial World and other organizations. He is also known for writing executive speeches and financial presentations cited for their excellence at conferences and in the media. Fluhrer began his career as a journalist with Newsday, widely regarded as one of America's best newspapers, and also served as a newspaper and wire service reporter during his college years. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and political science from New York University and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the International Association of Business Communicators, the National Investor Relations Institute, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Kappa Tau Alpha honorary journalism fraternity.
